CRCT Update

Standardized20testingYes!  The time is here for your brilliant children to strut their stuff!  The students are well prepared for the test and are ready to show the test who's the boss.  Just a few things that you can do at home to help your child be even more successful next week:

1) Be sure to feed your child a healthy, nutritious breakfast.

2) Get your child to school on time-ride the bus!

3) Get your child to bed early.

4) Provide your child with at least two #2 pencils

The test will be administered first thing in the morning, and specials will be after testing.  Homework will only be to read and work on their book report, so there will be no reason for your child to be late getting to bed.  If your child comes tardy to school, he or she will not be allowed to interrupt testing and will have to make up that part of the test on a makeup day.

Thank you for helping us do our very best!

Classroom Update

We have two weeks of school before the CRCT.  One before spring break and one after.  The test will begin on Wednesday, the 23rd.  The 4th Grade will be going to Kennesaw Mountain High School for a play the day before, the 22nd.  SO, we have lots of curriculum to cover by then.  We will be reading and studying Social Studies during reading LA block and continuing with science during the afternoons.  Be prepared for lots of homework and pop quizzes the next couple of weeks.  There will be only reading homework during the CRCT so that your child can get lots of rest.

Field Trip Tuesday - Southern Museum Civil War
Wednesday - 4th grade Writing Assessment (official practice - it will be sent off to be scored)
Earth Lesson - This week
Next Week - Spring Break ***ENJOY

Classroom Updates

Just a reminder that tomorrow is our “Recipe Share”.  Your child will need to turn in their recipe on a note car.  On one side is the ingredient list for the original recipe.  On the other side your child will need to double the recipe.  This counts as a homework assignment.  If you and your child would like make the recipe at home and bring it to school to share.  Please limit your goodies to one plateful.  Making the recipe is not part of the homework assignment, but a note is needed if you are not going to share a dish.  This is an extra activity for you and your child (that we will greatly appreciateJ).

"Pi" Day is Friday 3 -14.  We will be celebrating math with lots of numbers throughout the day and eating PIE.

Fire Safety ends this week.  Thank you for helping your child learn these important ideas and points.

RESEARCH will be due this Friday/Monday.  We have been working in class on this project but your child may need to do some work at home.  If they are not finished  on Friday it will come home for the weekend and be due Monday.

BINGO NIGHT - this Friday
