You are a colonist. Write a letter to your grandmother back in England telling her about what is going on in your colony, how you feel, and what you are going to do about it. High School R.I.S.E. Student

Savanna has been a great support for our class this semester. Please make her a card this weekend and bring it in on Monday. (worth 2 blue coins) OPTIONAL: If you would like to contribute to her college$fund you may bring a dollar or something you think she might need for college. We will put it all together and give it to her at the party on Thursday.

POP N READ with Book Buddy Party
Wednesday

Please make your book buddy a holiday card and bring in a special snack to share with them. You may also bring in your favorite drink. We will have POP N READ the second half of our day. This will be reading time in order to meet our AR goals and an opportunity to do graphic organizers.

With all the excitement of the holidays it becomes increasingly harder to accomplish the necessary tasks at school and at home. We feel that keeping our schedule consistent will be best for the students. Please encourage your children to continue their regular routine at home with homework. The end of the 9 weeks is quickly approaching and goals need to be met. Please remember the 25 book standard does affect your child's reading grade. Progress reports and citations from the last two weeks were sent home today. Graded papers will be sent home Monday. Thank you for your continued support!

Checkpoint testing - These are subject tests that the county provides for us to see where the students are at the half way point of the year. We will be participating in the Reading/LA, Math, and Science checkpoints the week of Dec. 12th. Please have your child here at school on those days with a full belly and plenty of rest so that they may do their best.
